San Juan Safe Commuities Annual Spring Conference

Save the date, May 16, 2012, for the annual San Juan Safe Communities Initiative Spring Conference, to be held at the Farmington Civic Center, from 8am-4:30pm.

We are offering three breakout sessions in the morning;
-track one is for Early Childhood providers;
-track two is a section on prescription drug abuse awareness; and
-the third track is offered for parents, teachers, mentors, pastors, coaches, or those working with kids.  Track three will be instructed by our special guest, parenting and education expert, author and nationally known speaker, Cynthia Tobias.

In the afternoon, all attendees will have an opportunity to listen to Cynthia talk about the different learning styles each child has, and the role of parents and families in the educational process.

If you wish to join us for lunch, you must pre-register by clicking here.  If you would like to set up a booth for the event, please pre-register at the link above, or you can email us at info@sjsci.org.  Space is limited, so please register soon.

That evening, in the Civic Center theatre, we will be presenting our “Change Agent” awards to three worthy recipients, followed by Cynthia’s presentation on parenting, the unique learning styles we each have, and how every child can be a success.  She will be helping us kick off the Youth and Family Collaborative’s “Strengthening the Family” campaign.  This is a FREE public event, co-hosted by the San Juan Rotary Club and PCL Radio.  The event will start at 7:00 pm, and the doors will open at 6:30pm.  Seating is first come, first served, so come early.

We hope to see you there!!
