Ongoing Community Events

    Sycamore Park Community Center

    If you are in grades 6-9 and are interested in photography, collecting evidence, and investigation this class is for you! Join Detective Eagle for a FREE 7-week class at the Sycamore Park Community Center. All participants must have a signed permission slip to participate. For dates, times, and more information, call Natalie at (505) 566-2481.

    Wednesday Dodgeball
    Dodgeball will be at 4pm every WEdnesday after school. Put your game face on and come have some fun- open to all ages.

    Parent Source
    Alice Trujillo will provide parenting classes every Monday in April from 6pm to 9pm. This class is free of charge.

    Adult Life Skills
    Life Skills classes will be offered on Wednesday evenings in April from 6pm to 8pm. Alice Trujillo with San Juan College is the instructor. This class is free of charge and open to anyone in the community.

    Basketball Open Gym
    On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in April from 6pm to 8pm, the Harv Henry Gymnasium at SPCC is reserved for pick-up basketball. There is no cost to participate. Come have some fun and get some exercise!

    Mondays-
    4pm Teen Movie
    Treat yourself to a FREE Movie at 4pm in the Teen Zone.
    Please note: there will be no Teen Gaming Fix during Monday Matinee. Gaming will resume after the movie has ended and all equipment has been put away.

    Tuesdays-
    4pm Teen Game Day
    Play your favorite video and board games! Recruiting teen volunteers to promote and work this program with staff. Join us at the teen council meeting.
    To play video games you must be ages 13-19 and have a valid library card in good standing. The complete Gaming Policy can be found on the public library Teen Zone section here.

    4pm Youth Gaming
    Wii for kids come join use with a vaild library card or just play regular board games

    4pm Movie Hour for Children (also on Thursday)
    Bring your child to the storytime room and watch a movie

    Wednesdays-
    4pm Teen Craft
    Enjoy a free teen craft every Wednesday in the Teen Zone!
    Craft changes weekly. Call (505) 599-1273 for more information.

    4:30pm Blended Zine Meeting
    Blended is a literature and art magazine for teens by teens in San Juan County.
    Teens ages 12-18 can volunteer to be part of the team!
    Blended meets on Wednesdays at 4:30pm at the Farmington Public Library
    Snacks and drinks will sometimes be provided. Teens will be allowed to bring capped, bottled drinks to the meetings, but only capped, bottled water is allowed elsewhere in the library.

    Thursdays-
    4pm GASP Projects
    In the Lab (Craft supplies will be provided, younger children may need assistance)

    E3 Childrens Museum

    Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday- 10am-12pm Toddler Playdate
    Admission is FREE!! This event is open to parents and toddlers 5 and under.

    Community Mentoring Opportunity

    Herman "Punch" Buck, Jr.'s gym now open.
    Punch's Boxing Club is a family oriented business where a family can come and take part in Boxing, MMA, and also Zumba Fitness. The Boxing and MMA training is open for ages 8 to adult. There is also Zumba Fitness starting from ages 13 and up.
