Signs of AddictionSymptoms of addiction include compulsive use, loss of control, and continued use despite catastrophic consequences. The drug works on the more primitive parts of the brain and can lead the user to believe that he or she can’t survive without the drug. Use of the drug becomes an automatic behavior that the user can’t stop. When the user recognizes that he may have a problem, he often begins to bargain with himself. He will often say he will only do it on weekends, or only in the morning in order to get to work. This bargaining fails and the user begins to believe that he or she can’t stop. Addicts borrow money from family and friends, steal if necessary, and will lie or cheat to get money for the drug. Mothers addicted to meth neglect their children, all the while insisting they are great mothers. Fathers will spend money on drugs before they buy food for their children. Despite severe consequences to children, family and friends, they continue to use the drug. Meth is the most dangerous drug on the planet! Many who try meth have no idea how addictive it is, and become addicted after using for a short period of time. Signs / Symptoms of Early Meth Use:
