Trading Card Program

The program promotes 12 High School Seniors with diverse interests who are committed to living drug, alcohol and tobacco free.  They serve as mentors to younger kids while at the same time honing the skills necessary to become our future community leaders.  They excel in various extracurricular personal interests and skills, including athletics, FFA, photography, music, dance, computers or other such positive activities.  Each senior is featured on their own trading card which they take to area elementary schools and events to sign for younger students.  At this time they discuss their positive choices and hope to mentor these students to become positive, future leaders themselves.  After the younger students have collected all 12 cards and have them signed, they may then enter a drawing to win prizes at Kidfest, held the first part of June of each year. For all the hard work they do throughout the year, the teens will receive a $1,000 scholarship at the end of the program.  The program is designed to promote real world positive role models for children.  These teens are positive peer mentors and role models who are an important factor in the future choices of the younger generations. Each senior signs a contract to do a minimum of 15 school visits or community events throughout the school year, delivering their message to hundreds of their peers, younger children, parents and other adults.

By investing in the “You Matter” (UmattR.com) Program you will:

• Be building youth leadership skills and peer mentoring for the community.
• Be promoting a drug free message in the schools and in San Juan County communities.
• Gain exposure for your business through your logo / message on the trading cards, posters, flyers, PSA's websites, newsletters, paper, radio, banners, and community events. 
• Be supporting the idea of creating a safer community, one child at a time.  This starts by helping kids learn to make good choices at an early age.

Sponsorship Opportunities For The 2010/2011 School Year

Platinum Sponsors - $1,000/Student ( 24 available) -  A business may sponsor multiple students.  The Scholarship Sponsors will have their names appear on the cards of the student(s) they are sponsoring.  The Scholarship Sponsor will:

• Have prominent Logo placement on front bottom left or right of each

trading card printed for the sponsored student.(5,000 cards/student!)

• Logo placement near and sponsor mention in article featuring each student selected for the October edition of the San Juan County Kids Newspaper.
•  Have their logo placed on the SJSCI.org and UmattR.com websites linked to your home page.
• Program Support Plaque for your place of business.
• Be recognized and invited to the “kick off” orientation ceremony, set sometime in September to personally meet the teens.
• Be eligible for a Card signing opportunity at your business location.
• Have name placed on a donation plaque and banner under the "Platinum" category to be displayed at all Safe Communities events.

Gold Sponsor - $500/Student (24 available) -  The Gold Sponsors will:

• Have Logo placement on back, bottom left or middle of the sponsored student(s) trading cards. (5,000 trading cards/student!)
• Have their logo placed on the SJSCI.org and UmattR.com websites linked to your home page.
• Logo placement near article featuring each student selected for

the 10/11 program in the Oct/Nov San Juan County Kids Newspaper. 

• Have their name placed on a donation plaque and banner under the "Gold" category to be displayed at all Safe Communities events.

Silver Sponsor -$250 -  The Silver Sponsor will:

• Have their logo placed on the SJSCI.org and UmattR.com websites linked to your home page.
• Have their name placed on a donation plaque and banner under the "Silver" category to be displayed at all Safe Communities events.

Bronze Sponsor -$100 -  The Bronze Sponsor will:

• Have their name placed on a donation plaque and banner under the "Bronze" category to be displayed at all Safe Communities events.

Monetary donations are accepted and will be honored as follows:

• Have their name placed on a donation plaque and banner under the "Donor" category to be displayed at all Safe Communities events.
