In this episode of UmattR, host Savanah Kenny from Piedra Vista High School sits down with fellow students Grayson Schnell, Braxton Yazzie, and Ethan Duckett for an honest and meaningful conversation about high school life, friendships, and the challenges young people face while growing up. The group shares their experiences navigating school, sports, academics, and the transition from middle school into high school, reflecting on how those moments shape who they are becoming.

 

As the conversation deepens, each student opens-up about personal struggles they’ve faced, from overcoming vaping addiction, dealing with anxiety and unhealthy relationships, to feeling isolated in new environments and coping with injuries that changed athletic dreams. Their stories highlight the importance of reaching out for help, surrounding yourself with supportive people, and remembering that struggles do not define your worth.

 

The UmattR movement is about reminding young people that they are not alone. Through vulnerability, faith, mentorship, and honest conversations, these students show how sharing our stories can help others feel seen, heard, and supported. Their message is simple but powerful: everyone has a story, everyone faces challenges, and every single person matters.
